Typhoon in Blackpool, UK!
Typhoon in Blackpool, UK! http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/
No not a severe weather front, but something with the power and presence of a typhoon yet with its wheel most defiantly fixed to the ground, local company TVR Motors Ltd http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/ have designed and built their latest high performance road car, named the Typhoon it is set to blow the minds of many sports cat enthusiasts.
The TVR Typhoon is to be a limited production car with only 60 being produced, 60! Yes indeed just 60 of these highly specified cars will be built, the number is significant because the car company is due to celebrate its 60th anniversary in the spring of 2007.
However news of this exciting car and 60th celebrations, have been slightly tainted with the news that company will cease production of all cars in the Blackpool manufacturing plant with a loss of 250 jobs, needless to say this is a severe blow to the local economy which is already struggling with job losses and hardly any new jobs coming to the area. This announcement is just another twist in the year long saga that has seen staff being laid off, then reinstated, a move to a new plant and now finally the news that the production will cease all together, maybe there will be yet another twist in this story that sees the TVR Motor company http://www.tvr-eng.co.uk/ staying in the UK and carrying on the 60 year old tradition, we can only hope.
