Wheel Fever - by Paladin

Krispy Kreme's and Harry's Café De Wheels

June 5th 2006 05:17
No readers, you havent stumbled across the Recipe's or food blog's, this is indeed still Wheel Fever.

Krispy Kreme's and Harry's Café De Wheels are as much of car culture as well...cars are! Why is this you ask? Because these two food outlets are open till stupid hours of the morning, much like the car enthusiasts that yearn for things to do at stupid hours of the night! We car fanatics, are a nocturnal bunch, going out when the skies are dark and there is a chill in the air.

Friday night i got to poson my body with such yummy delights. I met up with a group of car-friends i see every couple of weeks. We started the night at Krispy Kreme's in Mascot. We chatted aobut all things cars, I got to show off my new PSP with Initial D on it as well. We ordered warm drinks on the cold wet night accompanied by our diabetes encouraging donuts, here's what they look like for people unfortunate enough not to have tried them.

After that, we moved on to the famous Harry's Café De Wheels in Wooloomoloo. This is probably the greatest pie shop in Sydney, opening till early hours of the morning catering for those that had a big night out or those that just want a quick bite to eat. Their flagship meals are The Tiger - which is a pepper steak pie with pies, mash and gravy, and the Hot Dog De Wheels - which consists of a hot dog with chilli con carne, onions, mash, cheese and chilli sauce. A satisfying meal for car enthusasists or not!

So next time you are out driving and feeling a little peckish, drop by one of these food outlets for a bite to eat. You may find other car nuts hanging about too!

I love both those places... Krispy Kreme donuts are half the size of normal donuts, but have the same amount of fat!
